Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy provides a safe place to discuss the events of your week, and to process the struggles in your career and your personal life. I believe that given a good rapport and connection between a patient and a therapist psychotherapy can be helpful to most people. Although all my work uses a  psychodynamic approach, psychoanalysis is more intensive treatment (two or three times per week). It can be very helpful to come more frequently in order to tackle long-standing issues in one's family, substance abuse issues, or simply to have a deeper level of self-understanding. Please contact me at cgoldfarblp@gmail.com or (347) 403-3057 in order to set up an initial consultation and to discuss my fees. I participate as an out-of-network provider.

Individual Adult Psychotherapy/Couples Therapy

My sessions with an individual patient are 45 minutes and can be either once or more times per week. Couples sessions are 1 hour and often focus on communication issues, intimacy issues, and parenting differences.

Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy

Child and adolescent sessions are 45 minutes in length once a week, with additional sessions provided for parenting advice and problem solving.  This creates a safe space to express thoughts and feelings about parental conflict, divorce, or other family stressors.

Group Psychotherapy

Group psychotherapy (60-90 minutes in length) is a way for patients to get support and feedback from others about their behavior. Group therapy can stand on it's own or be a useful addition to individual treatment. Current groups include a new mothers support group.
